  • Overview

    The Senior Payroll Administrator completes day to day payroll duties for complete and accurate bi-weekly payroll reporting. This role is responsible for the development, data integrity, maintenance, and payroll administration in ADP for North American associates.


    This position can be located in our Evanston, IL location OR our Coralville, IA location.


    • Process bi-weekly, multi-state payroll for a growing workforce of 1100+ exempt and non-exempt employees in the United States
    • Upload, analyze and verify payroll for accuracy and make necessary adjustments or corrections
    • Manage compliance with applicable federal, state and local regulatory reporting and taxation requirements
    • Build and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for payroll processes including compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley controls
    • Point of contact for Finance for all payroll related reports, journal entries and bank reconciliations
    • Responsible for funding of U.S. and Canadian retirements plans
    • Prepare and provide schedules and documents for audits and corporate tax team
    • Manage year-end W2, T-4 processing and reconciliations
    • Review data integration from Workday
    • Ensure that all Federal, State and local laws and any compliance matters are followed
    • Create and run reports as requested by internal parties (Workers Compensation, 401(k), Audits)
    • Updates employee timecards, schedules, and PTO records; Track FMLA & Parental Leave
    • Demonstrate a high level of responsiveness to inquiries and requests from managers and employees
    • Completes employment verifications and various employee related forms in a timely manner
    • Ensures adherence to Company policies and controls

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent professional experience required.
    • FPC/CPP certification preferred

    Professional Experience:

    • Minimum of three years of prior payroll experience required; including processing multi-state payroll for exempt/non-exempt (FLSA compliance) and experience with more complicated payroll states (i.e. California, New York, Pennsylvania) preferred
    • Prior experience with ADP payroll systems and eTime time tracking preferred
    • Proven knowledge of standard payroll concepts, practices and procedures required
    • Experience with Restricted Stock Unit related payrolls preferred
    • Proficient use of Excel, Outlook, Word required

    Travel requirements for this position seldom – up to 5% of time.

    • Climbing: stairs, stools, ramps, ladders.

    Visual Acuity:

    • Work requires close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
    • Ability to read pertinent printed material and distinguish colors.
    • Ability to prepare and read written documentation; use of computer.
