  • Overview

    The Human Resources Business Partner serves as the main point of contact for all HR related matters of their assigned client group(s). This position aligns HR strategies to organizational objectives through consultation, communication, and execution of HR related policies, programs, and initiatives. The HRBP is responsible for HR support that aligns to operational needs through a proactive and solution-oriented approach.

    Responsibilities

    • Partner with leadership teams to develop and execute critical business and organizational strategies, providing guidance and counsel on matters related to workforce planning, organizational structure, talent management, change management, succession planning, employee engagement, etc.
    • Recommends, implements, and supports strategies, solutions, and programs to enhance the effectiveness of managers and the productivity, engagement, development and retention of associates
    • Partner with leaders to improve associate engagement, tracking progress on engagement and action plan initiatives and results
    • Leads business leaders in client group through bi-annual organizational design and organizational talent assessment processes
    • Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the cross functional HR team to develop solutions, programs and policies
    • Supports the Talent Acquisition function for internal client groups, including planning, sourcing and selection processes
    • Ensures compliance with all labor laws and code of conduct policies; providing counsel and advice to management and associates
    • Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation to managers and associates
    • Counsels managers and associates in problem solving, dispute resolution, performance improvement, regulatory compliance, and litigation avoidance
    • Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues through a systematic approach; conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations
    • Identifies training needs for associates and executive coaching in client groups
    • Ensures proper administration for all HR-related policies, procedures, systems and processes
    • Stays abreast of legislation changes affecting HR and reduces exposure through defensive HR practices
    • Demonstrates behavior consistent with the Integrated DNA Technologies Guiding Principles

    Qualifications

    Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in business or human resource management or an equivalent combination of education & experience required
    • SPHP/ PHR or SHRM-SCP/-CP preferred

    Professional Experience:

    • Minimum of five years HR generalist experience required

    Constant (67%-100% of work day)

    • Sitting: to assume a position in which the weight is largely supported by the buttocks, usually with the body vertical and the thighs horizontal.
    • Using Fingers/Grasping/Feeling: writing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand or arm as in handling. Applying pressure to an object with the fingers or palm and perceiving attributes of objects such as size, shape, temperature or texture by touch.
    • Repetitive Motion: substantial movements (motion) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.

    Frequent (34-66% of work day)

    • Talking: expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken work- those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
    • Hearing: perceiving the nature of sounds at normal range; ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make fine discriminations in sound, such as when auscultating and percussing.

    Occasional (33% or less of work day)

    • Reaching: extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
    • Standing: maintaining an upright position.
    • Walking: moving about on foot to accomplish tasks.
    • Lifting: raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position.
    • Bending: bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist and/or bending leg; bending legs at knee to come to rest or kneel.
    • Pushing/Pulling: using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward or outward/using upper extremities to exert force in order to drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.
    • Climbing: stairs, stools, ramps, ladders.

    Visual Acuity:

    • Work requires close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
    • Ability to read pertinent printed material and distinguish colors.
    • Ability to prepare and read written documentation; use of computer.
