  • Overview

    Purpose statement:

    The Analytics Developer is an integral part of the team responsible for designing, developing and supporting robust and sustainable analytics solutions; including self-service reports and data visualizations.  This position coordinates with application, infrastructure and business teams to ensure data products and tools meet quality and consistency standards. 


    Essential Functions:

    • Collaborates with business community to elicit, document and translate business requirements for Business Intelligence (BI) solutions into technical requirements
    • Analyzes complex data systems to develop automated and reusable solutions for extracting requested information while assuring data validity and integrity
    • Designs, develops, delivers and supports BI applications and solutions as well as reports within IDT’s standards of development lifecycle, testing and validation, documentation and security. Coordinates with business and technical communities as needed.
    • Trains and empowers others to create and maintain self-service BI solutions. Develops and leads training sessions to educate teams on the use of BI platforms.
    • Promotes and supports the infrastructure of reporting and BI strategy; including standards and best practices
    • Performs ongoing monitoring and refinement of BI and reporting tools and solutions
    • Support business and technical community in ad hoc reporting, querying and analysis
    • Demonstrates behavior consistent with the Integrated DNA Technologies Core Values.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.



    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, Engineering or related subject or equivalent experience/certifications required 

    Professional Experience:

    • Minimum of two years of SQL/T-SQL and report development/information delivery experience required
    • Two or more years of reporting development or data visualization experience with MS BI Tools preferred

    • Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of relational database design and BI architectures, core concepts, methods and best practices
    • Technical knowledge, experience and aptitude in BI Tools within MS BI applications: SQL, SSAS, SSRS, Excel
    • Analytical, reasoning and problem-solving skills; ability to effectively articulate business and technical concepts
    • Ability to develop productive business relationships, understand business processes and information requirements and translate them into technical requirements
    • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with internal and external customers

    Constant (67%-100% of work day)

    • Sitting: to assume a position in which the weight is largely supported by the buttocks, usually with the body vertical and the thighs horizontal.
    • Repetitive Motion: substantial movements (motion) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.

    • Reaching: extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
    • Standing: maintaining an upright position.
    • Walking: moving about on foot to accomplish tasks.
    • Lifting: raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position.
    • Using Fingers/Grasping/Feeling: writing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand or arm as in handling. Applying pressure to an object with the fingers or palm and perceiving attributes of objects such as size, shape, temperature or texture by touch.
    • Bending: bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist and/or bending leg; bending legs at knee to come to rest or kneel.
    • Pushing/Pulling: using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward or outward/using upper extremities to exert force in order to drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.
    • Climbing: stairs, stools, ramps, ladders.

    Visual Acuity:

    • Work requires close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
    • Ability to read pertinent printed material and distinguish colors.
    • Ability to prepare and read written documentation; use of computer.
