  • Overview

    The Inside Sales Representative actively promotes IDT products and supports field sales through various initiatives by phone and email.


    The selected candidate will need to be based in/near Toronto or Montreal.


    • Assists sales team to broaden and maintain customer database.
    • Contacts new customers proactively and customers that stopped ordering.
    • Maintains and further develops business partnerships with major customers, and when applicable with the assistance of customer service to assist with strategic problem solving.
    • Develops knowledge of customer perspective.
    • Communicates with customer support and the applicable field sales personnel on customer-related business.
    • Builds sales rapport and business acumen with all customers.
    • Prospects new accounts and prepares information for outgoing sales calls to secure new customers.
    • Educates and provides customers with current product sales information.
    • Maintains records and communications with customer base using CRM.
    • Participates actively on product introduction team for new product launches.
    • Participates in training and ongoing staff meetings.
    • Demonstrates behavior consistent with the Integrated DNA Technologies Core Values.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.



    • Bachelor’s degree or an Associate’s degree with equivalent experience in Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry or related field required.
    • Master’s degree preferred.

    Professional Experience:

    • Proficiency in a variety of PC software programs with strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office required.
    • Previous experience in the Life Science market, preferably in a customer-oriented and/or sales environment preferred.

    Required/Preferred Skills:

    • Fluency(written and spoken) in English required
    • Fluency(written and spoken) in French required

    Physical Requirements:

    Exert 20-50 lbs. of force occasionally and/or 10-15 lbs. of force frequently.

    Visual Acuity:

    • Ability to read pertinent printed material and distinguish colors.
    • Ability to prepare and read written documentation; use of computer.
