  • Overview

    The Manager of Business Analysis coordinates and directs the activities of the Business Analysis group. The Manager will mentor associates to act as an intermediary between the business community and the technical community to collect, clarify and translate business requirements into documentation, user stories, and conceptual designs from which applications and solutions are developed to positively impact quality, on-time delivery and cost.  The Manager of Business Analysis is responsible to plan, schedule and communicate value of all Business Analysis effort.

    Responsibilities

    Essential Functions:

    • Supervises and directs the Process Engineering staff which would include employee hiring, training, evaluations and discipline.
    • Works with departments to elicit and clearly document high-level requirements and capture business needs related to projects.
    • Identifies the critical to quality aspects of the project and helps the project team make trade-offs to accelerate development activities and release of enhancements.
    • Proactively identifies changes to process and software that have a positive impact on IDT’s quality, speed and cost.
    • Fills the role as Product Owner in Scrum teams.
    • Manages ongoing relationship with partners across IDT to drive satisfaction and effectively applies Business Analysis across the company.
    • Coordinates project delivery by participating in design/sprint reviews and walk-throughs to communicate systems designs and validate proposed solutions.
    • Engages with end users to incorporate usability and user interface needs when designing systems.
    • Resolves internal customer satisfaction issues proactively.
    • Manages Business Analysts and their professional development.
    • Responsible for internal software scheduling and value communication.
    • Demonstrates behavior consistent with the Integrated DNA Technologies Core Values.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree required; preferably in a science, engineering or IT related field

    Professional Experience:

    • Previous experience leading teams, either as a manager or a project team leader required
    • Minimum of three years of work experience required
    • Minimum of three years of work experience with oligonucleotide manufacturing processes, other operations or related field preferred
    • General understanding of software, product or process development preferred
    • Experience with Scrum/Agile and other development methodologies preferred

    Exert 20-50 lbs. of force occasionally and/or 10-15 lbs. of force frequently

    Constant (67%-100% of work day)

    • Sitting: to assume a position in which the weight is largely supported by the buttocks, usually with the body vertical and the thighs horizontal.
    • Talking: expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken work- those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
    • Hearing: perceiving the nature of sounds at normal range; ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make fine discriminations in sound, such as when auscultating and percussing.
    • Repetitive Motion: substantial movements (motion) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.

    Frequent (34-66% of work day)

    • Standing: maintaining an upright position.
    • Walking: moving about on foot to accomplish tasks.
    • Using Fingers/Grasping/Feeling: writing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand or arm as in handling. Applying pressure to an object with the fingers or palm and perceiving attributes of objects such as size, shape, temperature or texture by touch.

    Occasional (33% or less of work day)

    • Reaching: extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
    • Lifting: raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position.
    • Bending: bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist and/or bending leg; bending legs at knee to come to rest or kneel.
    • Pushing/Pulling: using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward or outward/using upper extremities to exert force in order to drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.
    • Climbing: stairs, stools, ramps, ladders. 

    Visual Acuity:

    • Ability to read pertinent printed material and distinguish colors.
    • Ability to accurately read measurements on equipment.
    • Ability to prepare and read written documentation; use of computer.
