  • Overview

    The Security Systems Administrator is responsible for the operation of various security related infrastructure systems including Endpoint protection, data encryption, and patching.  The role is also responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Microsoft Active Directory infrastructure including integration with Office 365.


    Essential Functions:


    • Supports CarbonBlack and other various endpoint protection systems.
    • Maintains corporate PKI infrastructure and 3rd party certificates.
    • Designs, implements, and maintains Rights Management services and Mobile Device Management policies.
    • Supports LANs, WANs, network segments, Internet, and intranet systems.
    • Applies OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrades administrative tools and utilities.
    • Uses and troubleshoots Active Directory and Windows Operating systems
    • Performs daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
    • Configures and maintains a variety of 3rd party application servers.
    • Communicates clearly and professionally with internal and external customers.
    • Works effectively as part of a team to achieve established outcomes.

    • Performs other duties as assigned.



    • 2 Years of post-High School education in an Information Systems field (LAN Management, Engineering, CompSci, etc) - Required
    • CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network +, Microsoft Certified Systems Admin (MCSA) - Preferred


    Professional Experience:

    • Minimum of three years of Active Directory experience - Required
    • Prior Endpoint security administration - Required
    • Three years of Windows Server Management - Preferred


    Other Job Qualifications

    • Intermediate Microsoft Active Directory services and structure. - Required
    • Intermediate Certificate Authority/PKI administration. - Preferred
    • Intermediate knowledge of endpoint security tools and forensics. - Required
    • Intermediate knowledge of the TCP/IP stack, DNS and DHCP protocols. - Required
    • Microsoft Desktop and Server operating systems. - Required
    • Internet browsers (IE, Chrome, FireFox) – Required

    • Reaching: extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
    • Standing: maintaining an upright position.
    • Walking: moving about on foot to accomplish tasks.
    • Lifting: raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position.
    • Using Fingers/Grasping/Feeling: writing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand or arm as in handling. Applying pressure to an object with the fingers or palm and perceiving attributes of objects such as size, shape, temperature or texture by touch.
    • Repetitive Motion: substantial movements (motion) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
    • Bending: bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist and/or bending leg; bending legs at knee to come to rest or kneel.
    • Pushing/Pulling: using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward or outward/using upper extremities to exert force in order to drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.
    • Climbing: stairs, stools, ramps, ladders.


    Visual Acuity:

    • Work requires close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
    • Ability to read pertinent printed material and distinguish colors.
    • Ability to prepare and read written documentation; use of computer.
