Overview

The Logistics Coordinator/Expeditor ensures the timely processing of domestic and export shipments through research, troubleshooting and communication with carriers.  This position serves as a resource to other groups within IDT on international shipping, cold chain shipping, and package tracking. 

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Completes daily tracking reports and works with UPS, FedEx, Customer Care, and Key Accounts to resolve problems with domestic and international packages (both import and export) shipped from various manufacturing sites; initiates lost package tracers with carriers when necessary
  • Assists with the implementation and maintenance of IDT’s Export Compliance Program, including training of IDT personnel and performing audits of compliance program
  • Monitors daily cold chain shipments from all locations and mitigates delays via freezer hold and re-icing requests
  • Monitors and manages stock item inventories and unfulfilled orders at all IDT sites
  • Performs customer screens in Bridger Insight XG software
  • Applies shipping fees to cold chain orders
  • Researches and determines commodity code and country of origin for items shipped internationally
  • Prepares order-specific, non-standard shipping paperwork (CARICOM commercial invoices, certificates of origin, etc.)
  • Retains copies of EEI filings and import documentation and scans documentation into digital archives
  • Manages large order delivery schedule, including plates
  • Manages Shipping process documentation, including writing and updating procedures
  • Serves as a resource to IT personnel on issues with and upgrades to Shipping software suites
  • Demonstrates behavior consistent with the Integrated DNA Technologies Core Values
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education, Licensure, Certification, Registration

  • High school diploma required; Associate’s degree strongly preferred
  • Previous coursework or seminar attendance in export compliance, logistics, cold chain shipping or other applicable subjects preferred 

Professional Experience:

  • Minimum of two years of previous experience working in a shipping, export control/compliance, order tracking or planning/expediting position preferred
  • Previous use of ERP system or shipping software suite preferred
  • Proficiency in a variety of PC software programs with strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office required

  • Reaching: extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
  • Standing: maintaining an upright position.
  • Walking: moving about on foot to accomplish tasks.
  • Lifting: raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position.
  • Using Fingers/Grasping/Feeling: writing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand or arm as in handling. Applying pressure to an object with the fingers or palm and perceiving attributes of objects such as size, shape, temperature or texture by touch.
  • Bending: bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist and/or bending leg; bending legs at knee to come to rest or kneel.
  • Pushing/Pulling: using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward or outward/using upper extremities to exert force in order to drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.
  • Climbing: stairs, stools, ramps, ladders. 

Visual Acuity:

  • Work requires close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to read pertinent printed material and distinguish colors.
  • Ability to accurately read measurements on equipment.
  • Ability to prepare and read written documentation; use of computer.
