Overview

The Environmental Coordinator oversees the Environmental programs, training, equipment, documentation and recordkeeping for IDT’s Coralville locations. This role also assists with Environmental activities and documentation at IDT facilities world-wide.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Manages EPA regulatory reporting and records (RCRA, EPCRA, etc.)
  • Ensures facility-wide compliance with OSHA, EPA and other regulatory requirements and IDT EHS policies
  • Develops, implements and delivers the environmental training program and documents. Assists with other EHS programs as needed.
  • Performs document and training administrative tasks in the electronic Quality Management System.
  • Manages EHS supplies and equipment inventory and preventive maintenance/inspections
  • Performs inspections and testing at all Coralville facilities (OSHA/EPA compliance). Included but not limited to EHS monthly inspections, storm water inspections and sampling, air testing, etc.
  • Participates in and assists in managing Hazardous Materials Spill Response teams and training programs (i.e. maintaining records, coordinating training, etc.)
  • Participates in the oversight and auditing of the Environmental Management System (ISO 14001)
  • Participates in the EHS Committee and manages the Environmental subcommittee
  • Coordinates with the Sustainability Committee and participates in sustainability projects/programs
  • Maintains required certifications and attends required EHS-related training
  • Maintains confidential information in compliance with regulatory and internal requirements
  • Travels between Coralville locations and travels occasionally for training in the Midwest
  • Participates in voluntary audits and regulatory visits
  • Works with and assist other EHS department members

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education, Licensure, Certification, Registration

  • Associate's degree (with focus in relative course of study) plus four years of Environmental regulatory experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting OR a Bachelor's degree (with focus in relative course of study) plus two years of Environmental regulatory in a manufacturing or industrial setting required
  • Valid Iowa driver’s license required
  • Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) preferred

Professional Experience:

  • Two or more years of Environmental regulatory experience (manufacturing or industrial setting) or training experience required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and PowerPoint presentations required
  • ISO 14001 experience preferred
  • Experience with the following (preferred):
    • Form R
    • TIER II
    • Biennial Reports
    • Storm Water Testing
    • Air Sampling
    • SPCC/SWPP
    • Hazardous Waste Management
